multi-input, multi-output modules are addressable control and monitoring devices used to supervise and activate auxiliary devices such as sounders, strobes, shutters, and water flow switches. Modules with multiple inputs and outputs are suitable replacements for several single-input/output modules installed for applications such as control of elevators, sprinkler systems, doors, and fire fighting systems. Each channel (input or output) on the 40000 module can be controlled by the VELOX 4000 series of fire alarm control panels. The input channels can be supervised for Normal, Alarm, and Fault conditions by using end-of-line resistors. The supervised output channels can be used to either monitor an external load via an end-of-line resistor or supervise an external power supply for the output. The relay (Form C) outputs are non-supervised outputs for the control of auxiliary devices, and they can be controlled by the fire alarm control panel. The devices are powered from the same fire detection loop which connects the fire alarm control panel, detectors, sounders, beacons, manual call points, etc. Therefore, additional power supply sources are not required.
